HOCKEY DIRECTOR & VARSITY HEAD COACH
James Brooks was born and raised on Chicago's northwest side. He played Central States for the Chicago Blues and Glenview Stars before playing high school hockey for Loyola Academy Gold.
After high school, James played two seasons for Robert Morris College before turning minor pro. After playing six seasons professionally, including one in Sweden, James hung up his skates and turned to coaching.
James spent four seasons building the Saint Patrick High School Hockey Program and, most recently, spent the last four years shaping and building the LZMW Yeti High School hockey program. James is passionate about developing young players into responsible young men and hockey players.
JUNIOR VARSITY HEAD COACH
Zack Laskowski is a Hinsdale Central High School Alumni and former Red Devil hockey player. Zach played 4 years (2017-2021) of Varsity Hockey at HCHC, followed by a stint in AAA with the Windy City Storm and a year of Junior Hockey with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers.
Zach has spent the last several years at HCHC as assistant coach on the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams and spent much of his time teaching and running the defense. Zack is passionate about coaching hockey at HCHC and continuing to build this program.

Matt Lundgren
Matt Lundgren was born and raised in Chicago. He played youth hockey at McFetridge and Evanston before attending Mount Carmel High School. There, he was a three-sport athlete and played varsity hockey. After graduating high school, Matt attended both Robert Morris and DePaul University where he played hockey all four years. He has been coaching for 9+ seasons and prior to joining HCHC, Matt spent four years coaching and building the LZMW Yeti High School hockey program.
Goaltending Coach & Assistant Coach
MICHAEL LEVINE
Michael Levine is a former standout goaltender for the Red Devils. Known for his technical proficiency and leadership on the ice, Michael is excited to return to Hinsdale Central Hockey Club, a place that holds special meaning for him, having played for the club at both the JV and varsity levels and serving as team captain his senior year.
After graduating in 2013, Michael played two years of junior hockey in the USPHL with the Springfield Pics, where his team won the league championship, and the Syracuse Stars, where he was named Goalie of the Year. He continued his hockey career at Suffolk University in Boston, competing at the NCAA Division III level and earning a degree in finance. Michael later earned his MBA from the University of Kansas. Michael is passionate about giving back to the program that shaped his own experience and looks forward to helping players grow both on and off the ice.
